With respect to defining focus areas for the indsutry-related side meetings at RDA's P11 in Berlin I can refer to two discussions:
1. The conclusion of the IoT Week workshop resulted in two core themes:
- reducing the costs of data intensive projects by incresing interoperability at the various layers
- organising an open data market that facilitates sharing/trading of data based on trust federations and/or contracts
2. Earlier discussions that argued for days/sessions that have attractive offers for two types of data professionals: a) big data specialists and b) startups and SMEs. The formats for sessions/tracks devoted to startups and SMEs working on data will probably be different compared to those already experienced with big data projects.

One short agenda point should be included: Together with a number of well-known institutions RDA Germany will organise a "competition for smart ideas on how to use existing data and stimulate new businesses". It is intended to invite the 3 winners of this competition to these side events to present their suggestions.
