NoMaD Lab base layer

This Wiki describes topics related to the development of the base Layer of the NoMaD Laboratory.

As described in the introduction, the base layer tries to transform the open access data of the Nomad Repository in a normalized form suitable for analysis using flink.

In order to download the repository, have a look at getting started. This and (much more) information is found in this wiki:

  • NOMAD getting started and general information

  • Repository everything dealing with the raw uploaded (zipped) data

  • Archive everything dealing with the processed (parsed and normalized) data

  • Analytics postprocessing of archive data

  • Internal

  • Unsorted Unsorted, everyone should move their pages here to the main structure; beware to not create duplicate information

  • DELETE pages deemed outdated or useless, will be deleted soon, check if you need to keep something

  • Wiki everything specific to this wiki

  • Wiki Last Changes, last changes on this wiki (should be moved to Wiki section)

Disclaimer

The work is still in an early phase, so expect outages and out of date information (which you are encouraged to fix).

Mailing list

There is a nomad-parsers mailing list for technical discussions at fhi-lists.de, to subscribe mail fawzi.mohamed at fhi-berlin.mpg.de

IRC

apart this wiki there is a mailing list (nomad-parsers, mail me to be added) and an IRC channel on freenode:

#nomad-lab
chat.freenode.net port 6697 using SSL

chat.freenode.net is the simplest choice, as it load balances on many servers, but sometime sends you to a non working one, reconnecting will send you to another one fixing the problem.

There are plenty of IRC clients, but if you do not know you could do worse than

  • XChat (linux/windows)
  • Colloquy (mac)

see the freenode.net FAQ for more info.

IRC is informal, and not archived, everything that should persist should be repeated either on the mailing list or on the wiki.
