Sandwiched LTE/GTE query error

The Sandwiched LTE/GTE query format in the search bar is not working. When trying out 01/01/2021<upload_create_time<01/01/2023 or 5<=results.material.n_elements<7 on staging, the search bar returns the error Cannot perform range query for a non-numeric quantity.

I take this as an indication that there is a bug.
